As the only physician in the legislature of Illinois, I believe I am the only representative who routinely deals with the gun violence that plagues our state’s Emergency Departments and Operating Rooms.
The “assault weapons” ban that passed today does nothing to reduce that gun violence…committed by criminals and mentally unstable individuals; but rather imposes fees, fears and felonies on law abiding Illinoisans.
Let our crystal clear, brilliant Second Amendment defend our Constitutional rights in the courts once again.
