This is a huge problem for ALL Illinois healthcare professionals and a top priority for me in Springfield.
After going through the education and training to become a Physician, PA, Nurse Practitioner, CRNA, RN, etc the act of finally getting a timely license to practice is costing Illinois dearly. Simply put Illinois is losing these highly trained and highly compensated professionals to other states and ultimately patients are the ones who suffer most.
As Spokesman for the House Healthcare Licensing Committee working with Chairman State Representative Bob Morgan we have facilitated new computer software at Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to fast forward these licenses.
