The proposed gerrymandering Constitutional amendment would had to have been approved by both chambers before May 3. The Senate has decided not to act, so the amendment will not move forward this year.
This amendment would have tightened Democrats’ grip on power and opened the door to even more partisan map-rigging in Illinois.
House Republicans remain committed to fighting for fair maps.
